  • She Didn't Plan the Strawberry Nails. But They Matched.

There are things about PenGems that don't make it onto the product page.

Every pen is made by hand, in our studio in Texas. There's a person (not a machine, not a fulfillment center) who touches every single pen before it reaches you. She's been making PenGems pens for years, and she genuinely cares about every one of them.

We don't talk about this enough, so we wanted to show you.

    The strawberry coincidence

Last week, she came in to start working on our newest pen, Strawberry Faire, a rosy, glinting beauty inspired by summer. She sat down at her workstation, picked up her tools, and reached for the first pen. And we noticed her nails.

Strawberries! She'd had them done over the weekend, for herself, not for work. No planning, just showing up to make your pens with strawberries on her fingers.

We took it as a sign.

    What goes into your pen

Every PenGems pen starts as a reliable writing instrument,  smooth, solid, refillable for life. She adds the rest: the crystals, filled by hand, each piece assembled by memory, and the sparkling gem on top.

If you've ever set your PenGems pen down on your desk and thought that's a really good pen, that's her. That's the work.

    Made to last

Every pen she makes is backed by our lifetime guarantee and our Pen Hospital repair program. If something ever goes wrong, send it back, and we'll fix it. That's a promise we can make because we know exactly how these pens are built.

One at a time, by hand, with care.

    And sometimes with strawberries.

    Where should we go next?
